Sent en masse to the Soviets via Lend-Lease, the P-39 Airacobra™ was an early WWII fighter first debuting in 1938. Arriving before the need for long-range fighters, the P-39 was meant as a short-range interceptor that would take off quickly and then return to a base nearby. While this combat style proved ineffective, the P-39 served well in the role for which it was intended and was renowned by the Russians. Of the top six Soviet air aces, four scored the majority of their victories in the Airacobra™.
Complete with custom printed elements, sticker sheet, and a custom minifig, the P-39 kit features working landing gear, a spinning prop, detailed cockpit, and a sturdy/swooshable design.
