P-38 LIGHTNING (D-Day Edition)

The P-38 LIGHTNING®, nicknamed the “Fork-Tailed Devil” by the Germans, was developed from 1941-1945 as an American piston-engine fighter aircraft. The LIGHTNING® is most famous for the air battles over the Pacific. An estimated 10,038 of the P-38 LIGHTNING® were produced during WWII. The twin-boom design was a major change from most military-minded aircraft in the skies at the time, making the LIGHTNING® very unique.

The updated D-Day edition of the P-38 LIGHTNING® features brick-built invasion stripes, retractable landing gear, and detailed cockpit. True to Operation Overlord, the LIGHTNING® includes a historically accurate radio antenna configuration and also features a brick-built engine exhaust.

All Brickmania® model kits are made of new-condition LEGO® bricks. This model comes disassembled, includes complete printed building instructions and comes packaged in a sealed box. This is a limited-edition kit and production may be discontinued at any time.
