About the P-40B Warhawk - WWII Fighter:
Lead by a retired U.S. Army Captain named Claire L. Chennault, the American Volunteer Group – nicknamed Flying Tigers – was a group of American volunteer pilots recruited to battle the Japanese in Burma and China during 1941-42. At this time in the war Japan had almost complete control over China’s ports and was working to completely cut the country off from the outside world. As a result, the Flying Tigers were outmanned, outgunned, and dangerously low on fuel and repair supplies. However, despite the odds the Flying Tigers bested the Japanese again and again, inflicting serious damage while protecting the supply transports over the Burma Road, as well as the Chinese capital of Chungking and other areas of southwestern China.
Built with a sturdy dihedral wing design, the P-40B Warhawk includes a detailed cockpit, brick-built exhaust, custom printed elements, and retractable landing gear. Also included is a custom minifig designed by Landon Reimer, and stickers with options for United States Army Air Forces stars and bars, or ROC roundels.
